PASED - Canadian Summer School on Practical Analyses of Software Engineering Data

Lab Instructions


The following software and specific packages are needed for the lab exercises. For student who will use their own laptops during the lab, please make sure your environment id ready BEFORE before attending the school. The TAs will NOT have time to solve the installation problems.

  1. Install R from http://cran.r-project.org/mirrors.html.
    Make sure that R (R --gui=tk if you use Linux) is working.

  2. Once you install R, please install the needed packages by issuing the following command lines from inside of R (just cut and paste the text below, or use the GUI: Packages ->Install package(s)..)

    install.packages("tm")
    install.packages("XML")
    install.packages("topicmodels")
    install.packages("stats")
    install.packages("orddom")
    install.packages("pwr")

  3. Make sure you install Weka:
    http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~ml/weka/index_downloading.html

  4. Make sure you have perl installed:
    http://www.perl.org/get.html
